With official spoilers confirming that Ross Cullum has ordered Cassius to make sure Jenz Sidwell “doesn’t walk out of that house alive,” the biggest question is no longer whether someone will die. The real question is who will pull the trigger. And what if the answer isn’t Cassius at all? What if Cullum decides to eliminate Sidwell himself—and in the process reveals the horrifying truth behind Marco’s murder?

Sidwell has become the one person Cullum simply cannot afford to leave alive. Valentin is already heading to Geneva to expose Cullum’s double-agent operation. Anna is getting closer to proving that “Nathan” is actually Cassius. Britt survived Cullum’s poison trap. Every direction Cullum turns, another secret is slipping out of his control. Sidwell represents the last witness who could connect every piece of the puzzle, making him the greatest threat to Cullum’s survival.

That is exactly why Cullum’s order to Cassius feels like more than just an assassination mission. It feels like a loyalty test. Throughout this storyline, Cullum has manipulated Cassius at every opportunity. He used him to steal medication. He nearly turned him into Britt’s unwitting killer. He constantly kept him in the dark while treating him like a disposable weapon instead of a trusted partner. Asking Cassius to kill Sidwell may be Cullum’s final attempt to prove whether Cassius still belongs to him—or whether he has become another liability.

But what if Cassius refuses?

After everything he has witnessed, Cassius has every reason to question the man he once followed without hesitation. Watching Britt nearly die and discovering how easily Cullum sacrifices innocent people could finally push him to draw a line. Imagine Cassius lowering his weapon instead of firing. Imagine Sidwell realizing that Cassius is no longer willing to become another pawn in Cullum’s deadly game. That single moment of hesitation could change everything.

Cullum, however, has never been known for mercy. If Cassius cannot finish the job, Cullum may step out of the shadows and do it himself. It would be a chilling display of exactly who he has always been—a mastermind who trusts no one and eliminates anyone who becomes inconvenient. Sidwell’s death would not simply silence a dangerous enemy. It would send a terrifying message to every person still standing: nobody is beyond Cullum’s reach.

The most shocking twist, however, could come after the gunfire stops.

Picture Sidwell lying on the ground, fighting for his last breath. Instead of begging for mercy, he looks directly at Cullum and asks the one question viewers have been asking for weeks: “Why did Marco have to die?” Rather than denying anything, Cullum simply smiles. Calmly. Coldly. Without a trace of guilt.

Then comes the confession that changes the entire storyline.

“It was never Sidwell who killed Marco,” Cullum says. “Marco died because he learned the truth. And I made sure he never had the chance to tell anyone.”

If that moment ever happened, it would instantly rewrite one of the biggest mysteries on General Hospital. Everything the audience believed about Marco’s death would collapse in seconds. Sidwell would die knowing the truth, but he would never live long enough to expose it. Cullum would erase the final witness while simultaneously proving that he had manipulated everyone from the very beginning.

For Cassius, the confession would be even more devastating than Sidwell’s death. In a single instant, every memory would suddenly make sense. Britt’s poisoning. The lies. The secret missions. The betrayals. Marco’s murder. Cassius would finally understand that he was never Cullum’s partner. He was nothing more than a disposable piece on a chessboard, moved wherever Cullum needed him and sacrificed the moment he stopped being useful.

That realization could lead to the confrontation fans have been waiting for. Instead of continuing to obey orders, Cassius could finally turn his weapon toward the man who destroyed every life around him. For the first time, Cullum would find himself facing someone who knows exactly how dangerous he really is—and who has absolutely nothing left to lose.

Whether General Hospital ultimately goes in this direction remains to be seen. The official spoilers only confirm that Cullum wants Sidwell dead, not how the mission will end. Still, if the writers truly want to deliver the biggest WSB shock of the year, having Cullum execute Sidwell himself before confessing that he murdered Marco would create an unforgettable turning point. It would expose the true monster hiding behind every manipulation and ignite the final war that could bring Cullum’s entire empire crashing down.

General Hospital may have just set the stage for its darkest WSB storyline yet.
