Anna has already crossed a terrifying line by luring Britt into an isolated confrontation while Peter continues poisoning her thoughts from inside her own mind. But what if Britt is not the person who ultimately takes Anna\u2019s bullet? Jason has been given every reason to realize something is dangerously wrong, and if he arrives seconds before Anna pulls the trigger, Port Charles could be headed for a shocking reversal: Jason throws himself between Anna and Britt\u2014and takes the bullet meant for the woman he refuses to lose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The warning signs surrounding Anna have become impossible for Jason to ignore. Valentin knows Anna is spiraling, and his concern should hit Jason especially hard once Britt becomes involved. Anna\u2019s fixation on Faison, Peter, Cassius and Britt is no longer just uncomfortable. It has become dangerous. Jason may initially believe Anna can control herself, but the moment he realizes Britt has disappeared to meet her alone, Valentin\u2019s warning could suddenly make horrifying sense. Jason does what Jason always does when someone he loves is in danger: he stops talking and starts moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Anna\u2019s decision to use Cassius as bait creates the perfect trap. Britt has a reason to listen because anything connected to Cassius could affect her future, but she may not understand how badly Anna\u2019s perception has deteriorated until it is too late. By the time Britt realizes this meeting was never really about information, she could already be staring down the barrel of Anna\u2019s gun. Even worse, Anna may no longer be hearing Britt\u2019s words clearly. Peter\u2019s voice inside her head could be twisting everything Britt says into another reason to pull the trigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is where Jason\u2019s arrival could completely change the scene. Imagine Britt facing Anna with nowhere to run when Jason suddenly appears behind them. He immediately draws his weapon, but shooting Anna is not an easy choice. Anna is not a random enemy. Jason knows her, trusts her and understands that something is deeply wrong. He could order Anna to lower the gun while Britt stands trapped between two armed people who normally should be allies. For several agonizing seconds, nobody knows who will move first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason taking Anna\u2019s bullet would be devastating precisely because it would expose the truth Anna has been unable to see. Britt was never the monster standing in front of her. Peter was the monster inside her head. The sight of Jason collapsing after protecting Britt could finally shatter the hallucination controlling Anna. Peter can tell Anna that Britt deserves to die. He can tell her Jason betrayed her. But he cannot easily explain away Jason bleeding on the ground because Anna pulled the trigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Britt\u2019s reaction could make the moment even more powerful. Instead of running while she has the chance, Britt could drop beside Jason and desperately try to save him. Anna would then be forced to watch the daughter of Cesar Faison\u2014the woman she convinced herself was dangerous\u2014fight to keep Jason alive. That image could destroy the entire fantasy Peter has constructed. Britt is not continuing Faison\u2019s legacy in that moment. She is trying to save someone she loves from the damage Anna herself caused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Jason taking that bullet would say something enormous about his relationship with Britt without requiring him to make another emotional speech. Jason has spent much of his life proving what he feels through action. Stepping directly into Anna\u2019s line of fire would be the ultimate declaration. He would not simply be rescuing Britt because she needs help. He would be choosing her when the cost could be his own life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aftermath could be even more explosive than the shooting. Anna would finally be forced to confront how dangerous her condition has become, while Valentin would have to live with the knowledge that his warning came too late to prevent bloodshed. Britt could refuse to leave Jason\u2019s side, and everyone around them would finally understand exactly how deep their bond has become. Anna, meanwhile, could face the unbearable realization that Peter almost used her to destroy two people she never truly wanted to hurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But GH could save its cruelest twist for the final seconds. As Jason is rushed away and Britt follows him, Anna is left staring at the gun in her hand. Peter appears again, expecting her to listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time, Anna looks straight through him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because Jason did more than take Britt\u2019s bullet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
