William Baines thinks he finally has Nina Reeves trapped. Jack Brennan vanished after a very public confrontation with Nina, Brennan\u2019s wallet was discovered inside her car, and now Baines is threatening to have her extradited. From the WSB\u2019s perspective, the pieces appear to fit almost perfectly. But Ric Lansing may be about to notice one tiny forensic detail that could turn Baines\u2019 strongest evidence into his biggest problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The question is painfully simple: Where are Nina\u2019s fingerprints?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viewers already know the truth about Brennan\u2019s wallet. Nina didn\u2019t take it. Drew Cain secretly removed the wallet after Brennan\u2019s death and later planted it inside Nina\u2019s vehicle. Drew even made sure he had the correct car before hiding the evidence beneath the seat. Nina had no idea Brennan\u2019s property was sitting inches away from her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That makes the wallet incredibly dangerous for Drew if Ric demands a full forensic report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baines can argue that finding Brennan\u2019s wallet in Nina\u2019s car links her to his disappearance. He can point to Nina\u2019s confrontation with Brennan and the threatening words witnesses heard. Put those things together, and Baines has a story that looks convincing enough to put enormous pressure on Nina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Ric is a defense attorney. He doesn\u2019t have to solve Brennan\u2019s disappearance immediately. He only has to start pulling apart the story Baines is presenting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the fingerprints could be the first crack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine Ric studying the forensic report and realizing there is no usable fingerprint belonging to Nina anywhere on Brennan\u2019s wallet. Nina insists she has never seen it before. Suddenly, those two facts fit together perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wallet was inside Nina\u2019s car \u2014 but there is no physical evidence showing Nina ever handled it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That would not automatically prove Nina is innocent. A missing fingerprint alone cannot establish that someone was framed. Nina theoretically could have worn gloves, the wallet could have been wiped, or usable prints simply might not have survived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ric wouldn\u2019t need to prove more than that yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baines is threatening to extradite Nina because he believes the evidence is strong enough. Ric could turn that confidence against him by asking the question Baines may not want to answer: How can the WSB treat this wallet as proof Nina possessed Brennan\u2019s property if they cannot prove she ever touched it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of asking why Nina had Brennan\u2019s wallet, investigators suddenly have to ask something much more dangerous:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who put Brennan\u2019s wallet in Nina\u2019s car?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is the question Drew cannot afford to have anyone investigating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The placement of the wallet already looks suspicious once Nina\u2019s fingerprints are removed from the equation. Someone didn\u2019t simply leave Brennan\u2019s belongings somewhere random. The wallet ended up inside the vehicle of a woman who had recently threatened Brennan publicly \u2014 almost as if the evidence was designed to complete a story investigators were already prepared to believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ric could recognize that immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nina had motive in Baines\u2019 eyes. Nina had a documented confrontation with Brennan. Then the perfect physical evidence conveniently appeared inside Nina\u2019s own car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may be too perfect<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ric could then demand that investigators reconstruct the wallet\u2019s timeline instead of simply accepting where it was found. When was Brennan last confirmed to have it? Who had access to Brennan after his disappearance? Who could have approached Nina\u2019s vehicle? Was the wallet wiped before it was planted?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every new question creates another opportunity for Drew\u2019s carefully constructed frame job to collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Drew has another problem he doesn\u2019t know about yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ava Jerome knows enough to understand exactly what happened. Drew\u2019s talk about needing an \u201cinsurance policy\u201d could make it clear to Ava that Nina\u2019s arrest was no accident. Ava may not be ready to confess her own role in the Brennan nightmare, but watching her best friend face extradition because of evidence Drew planted could push her toward a breaking point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That would create two separate paths toward the same truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On one side, Ric has the forensic contradiction<\/strong>: Brennan\u2019s wallet was found in Nina\u2019s car, but Nina\u2019s fingerprints may be nowhere on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other, Ava has the human truth<\/strong>: Drew had every reason to manufacture evidence that would send investigators toward Nina instead of toward him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither clue has to expose Drew immediately. Together, however, they could become devastating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also another piece of evidence waiting quietly in the background. The unusual tick connected to Ava could eventually lead investigators back toward the area where Brennan\u2019s body was hidden. That would create an extraordinary collision between two evidence trails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wallet points toward Nina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The physical trail surrounding Brennan\u2019s final resting place could point somewhere completely different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why Ric\u2019s discovery could be much bigger than simply keeping Nina in Port Charles. He may be the first person to recognize that Baines\u2019 strongest evidence doesn\u2019t prove Nina\u2019s guilt at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may prove someone desperately wanted her to look guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baines believes Brennan\u2019s wallet gives him enough evidence to take Nina away. But if Ric discovers the one thing missing from that wallet is Nina herself<\/strong>, the WSB may soon have a completely different mystery to solve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
