But Carly\u2019s next discovery could expose a devastating possibility: Brennan was supposed to meet someone during the blackout, and the person who arranged that meeting may know exactly what happened before he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mystery begins with Brennan\u2019s final conversation with Ava Jerome. Drew Cain needed access to Brennan\u2019s room, so Ava slipped a drug into his drink while Drew\u2019s virus disabled the Metro Court security system. The plan depended on Brennan becoming incapacitated long enough for Drew to search his suite. However, an unexpected phone call interrupted the evening. Brennan left Ava, entered the elevator, and began showing signs that the drug was taking effect. What happened afterward remains the crucial missing piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carly and Jason Morgan already know the camera failure was no ordinary technical malfunction. Jason discovered that the security system had been compromised, and their search of Brennan\u2019s suite revealed that someone had gone through his belongings. What they did not find was an explanation for Brennan\u2019s movements between the elevator and the swimming pool. Then there is Nina. Carly\u2019s suspicions helped direct attention toward her after Brennan vanished, while Drew secretly planted Brennan\u2019s wallet in her car. With Nina facing the consequences, Carly has a powerful reason to question everything she previously believed. If Brennan was meeting another person during the blackout, the investigation cannot simply revolve around an earlier confrontation and a conveniently discovered wallet. Carly may have helped send investigators toward the wrong woman while the most important lead remained hidden in plain sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Carly finally brings the message to Jason, the investigation takes a sharper turn. Jason wants the exact time of the call, the location Brennan was supposed to reach, and every possible connection to the disabled cameras. He also recognizes that the missing name matters less than the timing. Whoever contacted Brennan may have known the hotel would soon become a place where no one could be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carly entered Brennan\u2019s suite looking for answers about a dead man. She may leave with evidence that the entire night was arranged around a meeting no one was supposed to discover.
