Key Takeaways

  • Laura brought Luke’s name up while talking to Sonny.

  • She wished she could have called him when she found Dalton’s body.

  • Fans were touched to hear Laura speak of Luke after Anthony Geary’s passing.

  • GH will have a highlight reel as a memorial to the actor and the character.

    Laura Wanted To Call Luke

Laura (Genie Francis) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) have a very nice relationship, which is why she called the mobster when she found a dead Dalton (Daniel Goddard) in her trunk. Unfortunately, that decision led to Sidwell (Carlo Rota) blackmailing them both and controlling every move they make.

It was touching when the mayor brought up her deceased ex-husband when chatting with Sonny, who was close with Luke, about their predicament. Sonny advised her to “look at all the angles and just make sure to stay one step ahead” of Sidwell. Laura looked at her friend and said that he sounded like Luke. She went on to say, “That night I found the body in my car, I was scrolling through all the contacts in my phone, you know, trying to think who I can call about this. And I had the most strong and visceral impulse to call Luke.”

We all wished she could call Luke, and he would have done anything to help her. If anyone was to bring up his name after his passing, it had to be Laura. It is nice to hear that she still thinks of and misses him. She loves Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), but to most fans, Luke will always be her soulmate.

    Memorials

GH replayed Luke’s last episode on New Year’s Day, and it brought back many wonderful memories, but fans want more. The January 6th episode concluded with a slide that read, “In loving memory of Anthony Geary,” accompanied by a photo of the actor. This was still not enough to satisfy fans, so it was recently announced that a crafted highlight reel will pay tribute to both Luke and Geary. Timing has not yet been announced, but fans are hoping it will be meaningful and memorable.
