On the surface, it looks like Cullum is simply going after the person who helped get Britt’s medication. But the deeper and far more dangerous possibility is that Marco is only the perfect victim in a larger trap. If Cullum really wants to destroy Jason, then stabbing Marco would not just be an act of revenge. It would be a calculated move designed to turn Jason into the man everyone believes committed the crime.

Cullum already has reason to suspect Jason is deeply involved in helping Britt. He never bought the idea that Jason and Britt had fully gone their separate ways, and he clearly believes there is a hidden network protecting her. That matters because Jason is not just another obstacle in Cullum’s path. He is the strongest one. Taking Jason down physically would be difficult, but framing him for violence against Marco would be much smarter. It would damage his freedom, his credibility, and his ability to protect anyone else caught in this mess.

Marco becomes the ideal target because he is connected enough to matter, but vulnerable enough to be used. He helped secure Britt’s medication, which immediately places him in the middle of the crisis. Once those missing vials are discovered, somebody has to pay for that breach. Marco is not insulated by power the way Jason is, and he is not invisible enough to escape attention. In a storyline built on fear, secrets, and retaliation, he is exactly the kind of person a villain would strike first in order to send a message and trigger chaos.

The timing around Jason makes this theory even stronger. Just as the threat level rises, Jason is suddenly pulled away by Dante because of a WSB warrant. That detail feels far too convenient to ignore. Instead of being where he needs to be, Jason is dragged into official trouble at the exact moment Cullum appears ready to make his move. That creates the perfect split-screen setup: Jason is physically removed from the scene, yet narratively tied to the danger. If Marco is attacked now, Jason could instantly become part of the story surrounding the crime.

That is where motive becomes the weapon. From the outside, Jason is exactly the kind of man people could believe would silence Marco if it meant protecting Britt. He has a history of doing dangerous things for people he loves or feels responsible for. If Marco knows too much, handled stolen medication, or becomes a loose end in Britt’s escape plan, then the wrong person could easily paint Jason as someone with every reason to eliminate him. Cullum does not need the truth. He only needs a version of events that sounds believable enough for authorities and enemies to run with it.

The knife is another chilling piece of the puzzle. Fans noticed that Cullum appeared to have a blade hidden behind his back, and some even focused on the fact that he seemed prepared, not impulsive. That matters because a premeditated attack opens the door to a staged crime scene. If Cullum uses a weapon that can be linked to someone else, wipes down evidence, or manipulates the scene before anyone arrives, the attack stops being just a murder attempt. It becomes a setup. In soap terms, that is where the theory turns from simple danger into a full-blown frame job.

The location makes it worse. Marco is in Alexis’ office, which is practically the perfect place for a shocking discovery. If he is found there stabbed or dying, the fallout instantly spreads beyond Jason and Britt. Alexis could be dragged into the nightmare simply because it happened in her space. If there is any planted evidence tied to that office, then the case grows messier and more sensational by the minute. A murder in a lawyer’s office is not just personal drama. It becomes a legal and emotional earthquake.

Jason’s earlier hesitation with Cullum may also become the cruel irony that powers this whole storyline. He had Cullum in his sights and still did not take the shot. There were reasons for that hesitation, including Brennan being in the way and the risk of hitting the wrong target, but the emotional result is the same. Jason may have had one chance to stop the threat before it escalated. If Cullum now hurts Marco and turns the blame back onto Jason, then Jason’s moment of restraint becomes the very thing that helps destroy him.

Marco’s goodbye to Lucas only deepens the sense of disaster ahead. The moment he said “I love you” before leaving, it felt like a classic soap warning sign. Scenes like that are rarely accidental. They are designed to make the audience feel that something terrible is just around the corner. If Marco is attacked after that tender moment, the emotional impact multiplies. He is no longer just a secondary casualty in Britt’s storyline. He becomes the heart of a tragedy powerful enough to blow up Jason’s entire world.

If this theory is right, the consequences would be devastating on every level. Lucas would be shattered. Britt would lose one of the few people still helping her survive. Jason could become the number one suspect in a crime he did not commit. Danny’s already fragile family situation would become even more unstable. Alexis could be traumatized by finding Marco or implicated through the office itself. That is what makes this theory so gripping: one violent act could trigger a domino effect that crushes nearly everyone connected to the story.

The most fascinating twist is that Cullum may believe he can control all of this, but Sidwell could still become the wild card that blows the plan apart. Many fans think Sidwell would not tolerate Marco being harmed, which means Cullum could be starting a war he cannot finish. Even so, that does not erase the danger to Jason. In fact, it makes the whole plot even more volatile. Because if Cullum strikes Marco and the blame lands on Jason before the truth comes out, the damage may already be done. And that is exactly why this theory has caught fire: Jason may not be walking into a murder investigation because he killed Marco, but because Cullum wants the entire world to believe he did.

What makes this theory so explosive is that Marco may not be the true endgame at all.
