But that question might already be outdated. The real mystery isn’t just about the killer anymore—it’s about what happened after the murder. Because one detail refuses to make sense, and the more you look at it, the more it points to something far more dangerous than a single act of violence.

Cassius has been treated as the obvious insider, the man on the inside feeding information where it doesn’t belong. But there’s one critical problem with that assumption. Cassius is tied to Sidwell. And in this situation, Sidwell isn’t aligned with Cullum anymore—not after Marco’s death. If Marco is Sidwell’s son, and Cullum is responsible for killing him, then whatever alliance once existed is shattered. That alone changes the entire framework of the story.

This is where the timeline becomes everything. Marco is killed. The scene is left behind. When Alexis and Danny arrive, the phone is still there, sitting in plain sight. That detail is explosive. Because it tells us something very specific: the killer did not take the phone. Cullum left without removing the most important piece of evidence.

And yet, later, the phone is gone.

That single shift creates a second event layered on top of the first. Someone else came back. Someone else entered that space after the murder had already happened. And unlike the killer, this person knew exactly what to take. Not the cash. Not the valuables. Just the phone. That is not panic. That is precision.

This is where Cassius can be ruled out. If he works for Sidwell, then he has no reason to protect Cullum. He would have every reason to expose him, especially if Marco’s death hits close to home. Removing the phone doesn’t help Sidwell—it helps Cullum. It erases whatever Marco left behind. That means the person who took the phone is not just another insider, but someone working specifically for Cullum.

And that leads to a far more unsettling conclusion. There isn’t just one mole inside PCPD. There are two. Cassius represents Sidwell’s reach into the system. But Cullum has his own access point, someone embedded deep enough to move freely, to approach an active crime scene, and to remove evidence without raising immediate suspicion.

This transforms the murder into a two-layer operation. The first layer is the act itself—Cullum eliminating Marco. The second is the cleanup—his insider stepping in afterward to erase the trail. These are not random actions. They are coordinated. Planned. Executed with the assumption that the system could be manipulated from within.

The missing phone becomes the center of everything. Cullum didn’t need Marco’s money or his belongings. He needed control over whatever Marco had recorded, written, or discovered. A message, a contact, a location, a secret—something that posed a direct threat. And instead of risking exposure during the murder, Cullum relied on someone else to finish the job.

That raises an even darker possibility. Cullum didn’t just act in the moment. He anticipated the aftermath. He knew the investigation would begin. And he already had someone in place to interfere with it. That level of preparation suggests this wasn’t just about silencing Marco. It was about controlling the narrative that followed.

Now PCPD isn’t just investigating a murder. It’s operating from within a compromised system. One insider is pulling in one direction. Another is pulling in the opposite. Evidence can disappear. Leads can be redirected. Truth can be buried before it ever surfaces. And no one inside the department can be completely trusted.

Marco’s death may have been the inciting event, but the real story is unfolding in the shadows that followed. The killer walked away, but someone else made sure the truth couldn’t follow him. And if Cassius belongs to Sidwell, then the most dangerous player in this game is still hidden—still inside PCPD, still working for Cullum, and still one step ahead of everyone else.

Everyone is asking the same question: who killed Marco?
