Michael does not need a confession, a hotel room, or even a kiss. He only needs photos that create doubt. And after those jogging scenes with Chase, he may finally have exactly what he wanted.
The biggest clue was never Chase and Willow getting physically close. The biggest clue was the camera itself. Somebody was clearly taking pictures of them at very specific moments — the hugs, the smiles, the touching, the intimate body language. Those shots were not random. The framing was too deliberate. The timing was too perfect. That immediately raised one terrifying possibility: Michael may have already hired someone to follow them long before this scene even happened.
