It did not say she witnesses a crime in progress. Instead, the spoilers specifically frame Patty as someone who actively rescues him — implying she may already know far more than anyone suspects. If Patty truly discovers where Phyllis is secretly holding Matt Clark, the entire storyline could explode into total chaos overnight.
What makes the situation even more terrifying is Patty’s current mental state. Sharon has already been trying to keep Patty calm because she has become increasingly obsessed with “saving” people. That detail feels incredibly intentional. Patty has always seen herself as the hero of her own story, even during her darkest moments. In her mind, she is never causing destruction — she is fixing problems that everyone else refuses to see. That psychological pattern may now be pulling her directly toward Phyllis and Matt. The more emotional and unstable she becomes, the easier it will be for someone like Patty to uncover the truth.

That language subtly reframes him as a victim. It almost sounds like the story is being presented through Patty’s perspective already.
