Anna Devane has spent decades surviving spies, killers, betrayals, and psychological warfare, but her latest threat may be coming from somewhere she cannot fight. Peter August is back in Anna’s orbit, appearing in her visions and directing her actions with disturbing precision. Now his sudden interest in Britt Westbourne has raised an even darker question: Is Peter slowly turning Anna into the perfect weapon to get exactly what he wants from Britt?

The biggest warning came when Peter pushed Anna to ask Felicia about Britt. On the surface, it seemed like another strange exchange between Anna and the man haunting her mind. But Peter wasn’t simply talking. He was giving Anna a direction, and Anna followed it. That distinction changes everything, because Peter’s presence is no longer limited to unsettling conversations. His words are beginning to influence what Anna actually does.
Then came the line that should have set off every alarm in Port Charles: “This is the opportunity we’ve been waiting for.” Peter’s choice of “we” is chilling. Anna never agreed to become his partner, yet Peter speaks as though the two of them are already working toward the same objective. In his version of reality, Anna isn’t merely listening anymore. She is participating.
Peter’s next instruction made the situation even more suspicious. He wanted Anna to go back to Britt and offer to help her, specifically because that would leave Britt feeling indebted to Anna. That is not random advice. It is manipulation with a purpose. Peter doesn’t simply want Anna near Britt — he wants Anna to establish leverage over her.
And that creates the question the episode deliberately leaves unanswered: Why does Peter need Britt to owe Anna anything?
That mystery becomes far more dangerous when Peter and Britt’s history is taken into account. These are not strangers whose stories accidentally collided. Peter has every reason to view Britt and the people closest to her through the lens of old conflicts and unfinished business. His sudden fixation on positioning Anna close to Britt therefore feels less like coincidence and more like the opening move of something larger.
The most frightening possibility is that Britt isn’t Peter’s final target at all. She could be the doorway to someone else — including Liesl Obrecht. If Peter wants access to Liesl, information from Britt, or something Britt can provide, using Anna would be an extraordinarily effective strategy. Anna already has credibility. Britt has little reason to suspect that helping or trusting her could place her inside somebody else’s trap.
That is also why Peter has not told Anna to hurt Britt. At least, not yet. Instead, he is doing something potentially far more effective: building trust first. Anna approaches Britt as an ally. Britt accepts her help. Britt begins to feel that she owes Anna something. Only after that relationship is established would Peter need to reveal what he actually wants.
There is another mystery hanging over the entire storyline. Anna experiences Peter as a vision, but the story has not resolved the deeper meaning of his presence or why his instructions are becoming so specific. If Peter is purely a manifestation inside Anna’s mind, then why is that manifestation constructing such an elaborate strategy around Britt? Anna could be projecting fears, memories, or impulses through Peter’s image — but that explanation only makes her behavior more disturbing.
Because either way, Anna is responding.
She asked about Britt after Peter pointed her in that direction. She moved closer to Britt after Peter encouraged her to help. Step by step, Peter appears to be shaping the path while Anna walks it.
And that may be the real bombshell hidden inside these scenes. The danger isn’t necessarily that Peter will suddenly command Anna to attack Britt. The danger is that he doesn’t need to. If he can keep nudging Anna toward decisions that feel reasonable, she may never recognize the manipulation until she has already crossed a line she cannot undo.
Britt therefore needs to be watching Anna very carefully. What looks like an unexpected ally could become the connection that places her directly inside Peter’s unfinished business.
Peter has already given Anna two moves: Find out more about Britt. Make Britt indebted to her.
Now only one question matters.
When Peter finally decides it is time to collect that debt, what exactly will he tell Anna to do?
