CURTIS SAYS NO! ISAIAH DEMANDS A SECOND DNA TEST — AND HIS REFUSAL COULD BLOW DESMOND’S PATERNITY WIDE OPEN!

Isaiah has finally reached his breaking point, and Curtis may not be prepared for what comes next. After everything that has happened surrounding Desmond, Isaiah is no longer willing to accept that one DNA result should permanently close the door on the biggest question hanging over this family. Instead of waiting for someone else to uncover the truth, Isaiah is ready to force the issue himself — by demanding an entirely new DNA test.

But the real bombshell may not be Isaiah’s demand. It could be Curtis’ reaction to it.

From Curtis’ perspective, there is nothing left to investigate. The original test produced an answer, the paternity question was supposedly settled, and reopening the issue would only create more chaos. Curtis has every reason to believe that Isaiah needs to accept the result and move on. Yet the harder Curtis pushes against another test, the more suspicious the situation could begin to look from Isaiah’s side.

Isaiah’s question is brutally simple: If Curtis is completely confident in the original result, what is there to fear from confirming it again?

That question could turn an already painful family situation into an all-out confrontation. Isaiah has spent enough time watching other people control what he is allowed to know about Desmond. Now, after the way Curtis has treated him, he has a reason to stop standing on the sidelines. If there is even the smallest possibility that the original DNA result was inaccurate, Isaiah has too much at stake to simply walk away.

And Isaiah would not be asking for someone to check the same paperwork twice.

The smartest move would be a completely independent paternity test using newly collected samples, a different laboratory, and a fresh chain of custody. No stored samples. No reliance on the original report. No assumptions based on what everyone has already been told. Isaiah could insist that the entire process start from zero, eliminating as many questions about the first test as possible.

That is exactly what could make Curtis so uncomfortable.

Curtis could see Isaiah’s demand as something far more personal than a search for scientific certainty. To him, Isaiah would effectively be challenging his place in Desmond’s life and threatening to rip open a family crisis that everyone has already endured. Curtis could accuse Isaiah of refusing to accept reality simply because he does not like the answer he received.

Isaiah, however, would have the perfect response.

“Then prove it again.”

Those three words could completely change the balance of power.

Portia would suddenly find herself trapped directly between the two men. Supporting Curtis and opposing the retest could make Isaiah even more determined to discover why everyone seems desperate to keep the original result untouched. But supporting Isaiah would create an equally dangerous question for Curtis: Why would Portia believe another DNA test is necessary unless she has doubts of her own?

Suddenly, the second test becomes more than a medical procedure. It becomes a loyalty test.

And that is where this storyline could explode.

Imagine Isaiah obtaining the independent test despite Curtis’ objections. Days later, a new envelope arrives. Isaiah opens it expecting either confirmation or disappointment. Curtis watches him carefully, convinced that the same answer will finally end the argument.

Then Isaiah’s expression changes.

“This isn’t what the first test said.”

That would be the moment everything collapses.

A second DNA result contradicting the first would immediately reopen Desmond’s entire paternity story. More importantly, it could create the possibility that Isaiah — not Curtis — has the biological connection everyone thought had already been ruled out.

But an even bigger mystery would immediately follow.

Why were the two tests different?

A laboratory error would be one explanation. A contaminated or mishandled sample could be another. But in Port Charles, a conflicting DNA result would inevitably raise a far more dangerous possibility: Was the original test compromised?

That does not automatically mean someone deliberately switched or manipulated anything. A second result would need verification before anyone could know exactly what happened. But once two supposedly reliable tests tell two different stories, nobody gets to pretend the first answer is unquestionable anymore.

And Curtis could suddenly face the nightmare he tried to prevent.

If Isaiah’s independent test establishes a biological connection to Desmond, Isaiah would no longer be fighting merely to clear his name or demand answers. He could be fighting for the right to have a real place in Desmond’s life.

Curtis, meanwhile, could find himself forced to confront a devastating possibility: the certainty he defended so fiercely was never certainty at all.

That would leave Port Charles with a question even more explosive than who Desmond’s real father is.

WHO KNEW THE FIRST DNA TEST WAS WRONG — AND WHY DIDN’T THEY WANT ISAIAH TO TEST AGAIN?
