General Hospital may have just handed Ava Jerome the perfect way to save Nina without sacrificing herself. Nina’s arrest over the Jack Brennan mess puts Ava in an impossible position: telling the entire truth could expose her own role in what happened after Brennan died. Charlotte and Danny could establish that Brennan was already dead. Ava’s recording could establish Drew knew exactly where the body was hidden. And Drew’s own words could potentially explain how Brennan’s wallet ended up creating a trail toward Nina.
Suddenly, Nina would no longer look like the center of the mystery.
Drew would.
The most delicious part is that Drew may believe Nina is his insurance policy. As long as investigators are looking at her, they are not looking closely enough at him. But Ava could realize something terrifying: if Drew can use Nina as protection today, he can use Ava tomorrow.
That gives Ava every reason to strike first.
She would not have to betray herself to rescue Nina. She would simply have to let Drew believe they are still partners long enough for him to betray himself.
