A new lawyer is arriving in Port Charles, but her first major case could bring back a man whose history with the Ashford family remains painfully unfinished. Monet’s arrival at Miller & Davis comes just as Curtis Ashford faces a terrifying crisis inside Pentonville. When the situation spirals into a brutal attack, Alexis Davis turns to someone who understands the prison better than most: Shawn Butler. Monet, played by Blythe Howard, is scheduled to make her General Hospital debut on September 23. The new attorney will join Diane Miller and Alexis Davis at their law firm, bringing fresh energy to Port Charles’ legal world. However, her introduction could become much more significant when Jordan desperately seeks help for Curtis. With Jenz Sidwell sharing a prison cell with her former husband, Jordan has every reason to fear that Curtis is being placed directly in danger.
Jordan already knows what Sidwell is capable of. His threats of revenge have made Curtis an obvious target, and the thought of him being trapped behind bars with such a dangerous enemy is unbearable. When Jordan approaches Miller & Davis, Monet begins examining Curtis’ circumstances and discovers that his situation requires more than ordinary legal representation. Someone familiar with Pentonville’s inner workings could provide the insight needed to protect him.
That is when Alexis makes a phone call that nobody in Port Charles expects.
Shawn Butler has been away for years, rebuilding his life after the wrongful imprisonment that stole so much of his future. His departure allowed him to escape the painful memories surrounding Jordan, TJ Ashford, and the family tragedy that changed everything. Yet when Alexis tells him Curtis is in danger, Shawn cannot simply turn away.
Curtis is not just another prisoner who needs help. He is Tommy Ashford’s younger brother.
Years ago, Shawn became involved with Jordan while she was married to Tommy. Their affair eventually led to a devastating confrontation, and Tommy lost his life after pulling a gun on Shawn. The tragedy left Jordan carrying enormous guilt, Curtis mourning his brother, and TJ growing up without knowing that Shawn was actually his biological father.
That history makes Shawn’s return especially emotional. He cannot change what happened to Tommy, but the possibility of losing Curtis forces him to confront the consequences of that terrible day all over again. If Curtis dies, TJ will lose another important father figure, and Shawn will have to live with knowing that he had an opportunity to help but failed to act.

Upcoming spoilers reveal that Curtis and Sidwell will become victims of a vicious attack that sends both men to General Hospital with serious injuries. Sonny Corinthos will face blame in the aftermath, creating another dangerous complication for everyone involved. But while Port Charles focuses on who ordered the attack, Shawn has a more immediate concern: making sure Curtis survives and never becomes an easy target inside Pentonville again.
The hospital could become the setting for an unforgettable reunion when Jordan sees Shawn standing outside Curtis’ room. Their complicated past would make the encounter uncomfortable under ordinary circumstances, but neither has time to revisit old romantic wounds. Curtis is fighting for his recovery, and TJ needs his family more than ever.
Monet, meanwhile, finally gets her opportunity to prove why Alexis brought her into the firm. Working with Shawn, she begins pursuing legal protection for Curtis, using the prison attack to challenge the conditions that exposed him to such danger. Shawn’s own experience at Pentonville gives him valuable insight into the risks Curtis could face if he is returned to the same environment.
Their partnership could become the key to getting Curtis out of immediate danger.
But the emotional climax would belong to Shawn and Jordan. After years of separation, Jordan finally asks why he would return to Port Charles and risk reopening wounds that neither of them has completely healed.
Shawn’s answer would have nothing to do with rekindling their romance.

And for Curtis, surviving Pentonville could mean discovering that the man connected to his brother’s death has become one of the people fighting hardest to bring him home.
Monet’s arrival may appear to be another new chapter for Miller & Davis, but her connection to Curtis’ legal crisis could reopen one of General Hospital’s most emotional unfinished stories.
