GH’s Cameron Mathison Gets Emotional Sifting Through Remains of His Home

General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison walked through the rubble of his home in Altadena.

Cameron Mathison has been through a lot over the last year. The General Hospital star lost his Altadena home when wildfires ravaged the area. It was the home he raised his children in, and much of what they had was destroyed. However, he hasn’t lost hope that one day they may rebuild.

Cameron Mathison Sifts Through Rubble

Cameron Mathison was one of the thousands of people who lost their homes earlier this year when wildfires raged through California. He has been incredibly outspoken about the devastation around him and the state of his Altadena home.

Recently, Mathison went back to his home with Access Hollywood. It was an emotional event for the soap star because it was where his kids were raised. The house had been decorated for Christmas, and the remnants of that were evident. As he sifted through things behind the gate, he was overcome with emotion as he picked up an ornament.

While sharing the clip from his walkthrough, Mathison wrote, “Coming back to the property where our home burned down in Altadena was extremely emotional—so many memories here.” He also revealed he’s turned his focus to having something meaningful come out of the challenge.

Mathison Continued to Work Following Home Loss

Despite everything that happened to his home, Cameron Mathison didn’t walk away from GH. Instead, he continued to film and play the villain everyone loves to hate. This was a testament to his strength, which has been on display since his kidney cancer diagnosis.

Drew escaped death on GH and is still conspiring to make sure everyone around him pays for the wrongs he believes he encountered because of them. The ‘who shot Drew” question remains, and the suspect list is lengthy. He’s crossed so many people in Port Charles that it could almost be anyone. As the storyline continues to play out, Mathison knows he is in the hot seat because of his character’s actions, but he is up to playing the villain.
